How to play Russian Solitaire
Read the aim of Russian Solitaire, then make your first move. Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Look at what changes after your first action. Read the objective before making your first input. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.
Yukon-style deal, same-suit building, no stock. Free solo play, no wagering.
Notice the feedback
Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Use the example to check your reasoning.
Your goal
Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Try to explain the aim in your own words.
Step by step
- Move any face-up card and its tail onto the next higher rank of the same suit. Kings fill empty columns.
- Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
- Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
- Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.
Controls
Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Use the control method described here for this activity. Make sure you are interacting with the game rather than the surrounding page.
A useful example
A heart 6 fits a heart 7, not a spade 7. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Check the stated objective.
Watch out for this
Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. A different version of the game may use a different rule. After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again.
