How to play Maze Adventure

Choose a round of Maze Adventure and settle into its rules. Move into the exit at the bottom right. The game counts the steps you take. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Treat the first round as a chance to learn the controls. Use the example below to understand a decision.

A careful first round

Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Move into the exit at the bottom right. The game counts the steps you take. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Try to explain the aim in your own words.

Step by step

  1. Start from the upper-left cell.
  2. Move through openings using arrow keys or direction buttons.
  3. You may also tap a neighbouring cell connected by an open passage.
  4. Reach the gold exit or generate a new maze.

Controls

Arrow keys, on-screen direction buttons, or a click/tap on an adjacent reachable cell. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. A new-round button replaces the current round.

A useful example

If a wall blocks the cell to your right, try another opening; the token cannot move through walls. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Choose a deliberate next step.

Watch out for this

Only immediately adjacent cells can be reached in one move. Compare the situation with the worked example. Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention.
