How to play Jigsaw Sudoku

Bring your attention to one round of Jigsaw Sudoku. Fill each row, column and irregular coloured nine-cell region with 1–9 once. Use the example below to understand a decision. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

This collection contains 6 puzzles. Progress is saved in this browser. The same puzzle can appear again; the collection is not labelled with calibrated difficulty levels.

Keep the aim in sight

Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Fill each row, column and irregular coloured nine-cell region with 1–9 once. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Try to explain the aim in your own words.

Step by step

  1. Select an editable cell.
  2. Enter a value using the keypad or keyboard; Notes stores candidates.
  3. Read the region, cage, arrow or outside clues alongside the normal constraints.
  4. Check entries verifies the completed board; Undo reverses your last input.
  5. New puzzle selects another included puzzle.

Controls

Click or tap cells and the digit pad. Use Notes, Undo and Reveal selected. Large boards scroll inside the game. Use the control method described here for this activity. Read the example below alongside these instructions.

A useful example

The coloured region, not a conventional 3×3 box, defines the third no-repeat constraint. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Check the stated objective.

Watch out for this

A full board must obey every extra rule. Reveal supplies assistance; it is not an earned deduction. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
