How to play Air Hockey

Try Air Hockey at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Score seven goals before the computer. Look at what changes after your first action. Make your first input carefully and watch the result. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

Move your paddle against a computer opponent and score through the opposite goal.

Keep the aim in sight

Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Score seven goals before the computer. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Start with a deliberate move.

Step by step

  1. Start.
  2. Move your mallet within the lower half.
  3. Strike toward the upper goal.
  4. Goals reset the puck.

Controls

Mouse/touch movement or Left/Right controls. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Return to the rules if the result is unexpected.

A useful example

An angled hit can bank off a side wall. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Take a moment to compare.

Watch out for this

You cannot move into the computer’s half. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention.
